A little more about Julian:

Julian was born in West Hammersmith Hospital in London, England to New Zealand parents. His Father a New Zealand Civil Engineer and his mother a New Zealand artist. At age four Julian’s father’s work took him to Washington DC to work for the World Bank and later the United Nations.

Julian fell in love with music in the United States and was accepted into the Washington Cathedral Choir along with a choral scholarship to attend St Alban’s School for boys in Washington DC.

During his time at the Cathedral the boys spent up to 30 hours a week for 4 years practising and singing Sunday services and daily evensong.

After graduation from St Alban’s, and becoming a computer scientist, Julian returned home to Auckland New Zealand to work for a local engineering company.

One day he discovered St Andrew’s Church Epsom, and felt he was home again. The services, the music and the people all had the same love for God and fellowship that life in the Cathedral had, but being home in New Zealand added a even deeper richness to daily worship.

St Andrews has been his spiritual home for over a decade where his sense of vocation has continued to grow and develop. It is also where he met the love of his life Soojin Morris. They were married at St Andrew’s five years ago.

In recent years Julian has also been involved in the Diocesan Training Programme (DTP) and has taken theology papers at Otago.

We look forward to seeing his ministry at St Andrew’s continue to grow and flourish.
